STOLEN NATIONALS COURT HEARING
October 21, 2005. The case involving the destruction of our two Nationals came for hearing on October 20 and took a full day. The Council professed total ignorance of the damage to the vehicles even to making the suggestion that it probably happened before they were stolen by them. However the judge was not buying that argument and very quickly asked a simple question. Pointing to the councils own photos taken as they removed the vehicles and then to those taken in Kevin Barrys yard showing the total destruction of the vehicles she asked was the council saying it did not happen during their having the vehicles. Counsel for the council admitted finally that "yes it had". The judge then used an interesting word as to what happened the vehicles after the council stole them which was "sinister". Up to that counsel had maintained the vehicles were in perfect condition and no damage had occurred to them. I would call that deliberately lying to the court but it did not wash.

The other thing which was interesting was that the council maintained they had not given any instructions to sell or dispose of the vehicles yet the order clearly stated disposal. Counsel was asked was there a procedure to be gone through to dispose of the vehicles to which they answered "yes". They were then asked had they gone through it and after much hesitation answered "no". I think the judges word "sinister" was pretty accurate.

To make a long story short the judge reserved judgement which we await with interest but the case went well. What is appalling about this is the way the Cork County Council have gone out of their way to try and break the museum financially. This can only have been authorised by the County Manager as he knew about it and it is a sad reflection on the ethics or lack thereof that exist at the upper echelons of the Cork County Counil.

One other item of interest. National Recycling Limited of Cork are still charging the Cork County Council for the storage of the vehicles and collecting even though the vehicles have long left their premises. These being a well run website I would not dream of calling Mr. Twohig, their Managing Director a crook and a gangster and I would emphatically deny any such insinuation but I leave readers to make up their own minds as to what he might be. More anon.

STOLEN NATIONALS LATEST - ALL COUNCILLORS ASKED TO HELP

October 10, 2005. Today we have written to every County Councillor asking help to get our vehicles back. The letter reads as follows:

Dear Councillor:

Cork is home to arguably the largest private bus museum in the world with 192 buses. When the premises are ready it will be a major Cork tourist attraction. If you look at our website www.kellstransportmuseum.com you will get a flavour. And no taxpayer money anywhere.

We have had over 20,000 of vandalism this year alone from outsiders and it has cost a fortune to secure the premises. Look what happened a unique, historic, irreplaceable bus. Perfect on delivery, it drove from Omagh at 55 mp.h. Pictures of it after being vandalised are on the next page. There is 25,000 of damage to this bus and 10,000 to a second bus.

The only problem is that the vandalism was organised by Mr. John Conroy of the Cork County Council, one of your engineers. The Council previously served us an order to scrap all our vehicles and send them the receipts because they were over 25 years old. They must be joking.

The Council have are now spending 250,000 of the Councils taxpayers money on legal fees to break the museum financially and put it out of business and destroy it. They have refused to return the bus remains where at least we could back an engine worth 4,500 euro and are paying 200 euro a day for storage. They are going to the High Court on October 20, 2005 to allow them to destroy what is left of the buses and break the museum financially. I have not the ability or money to fight them. Conroy and his colleagues are morally and financially wrong, unfair and unjust. He and his colleagues had a duty of care to our buses when they were in their custody and clearly failed that duty. Do you stand over that? Look at the picture.

What will you going to do to help the museum. Have you any power? Do you even care? We need your help to stop this madness not to mention waste of taxayers money. Give us back our buses. Help Cork and its tourism. God knows, we need every tourist we can get. Stop this madness before it gets out of hand. Do you care? Will you do anything? Probably not as you are a politician. Please prove me wrong and show their is still some honour left in the Cork County Council and let us have the remains back. We will put on our website your response so that your voters can know and appreciate what you have done to help us. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Michael Grimes
Chairman.

Nobody in the council is willing to discuss the situation and everyone says their solicitor will answer for them. A bunch of spineless cowards incapable of thinking for themselves and hiding behind their law department are running the Cork County Council. And the solicitor Hilary Beausang refuses to meet to discuss the situation. And she is one of the better people there so God help the rest! She is deliberately contributing to the destruction of the vehicles.

But even worse they are paying storage every day of 200 which when the case comes to hearing means the Cork County taxpayer will have forked out about 140,000 for storage, 100,000 for legal fees and heaven knows how much management time and money. Somebody must be mad and I am not sure it is me! There is no logic to their position.

Take a look at the following:

SNG 409 on her delivery run. 55 m.p.h. from Omagh to Cork. A super machine.

Picture of the machine after that bastard engineer Conroy got his hands on her.

How could anybody stand over that sort of destruction and then have the nerve to apply to finish the demolition and make the museum pay? Well Maurice Moloney, Dan Conroy and their legal advisor Hilary Beausang obviously have. What sort of moronic mind - assuming they have a brain in the first place of course, which may be my error - could want to stand over such destruction? These people are under the illusion they are patriotic Irish people. They are not. They are philistines pure and simple with no interest in the people they serve. I have tried to meet them to work out a solution. Not one of them from Maurice Moloney down through Hilary Beausang the solicitor has the guts to meet me - despite repeated requests. If these people get away with the total destruction of these buses it is a sad day for Ireland and means we have degenerated into a police state where officials do as they like. My crime has been that I stood up to them and they do not like it. But it is not too late yet. I hope they will agree to return the remains. No matter what happens it will cost the taxpayer over 250,000 euro in costs and they can be absolutely sure I am not paying. They can go to hell. I will keep you informed. More anon.
